what is the wackiest...strangest....most unusual jw teaching or practice?
The equivalent to Catholic infant baptism, letting children make the decision to get baptized when they are not even done growing up! This last assembly, a 12 year old girl took the dunk and you could just tell she did not even know what kind of commitment she was signing up for. Preposterous!
How dare they criticize any other religion where the infants or very young are baptized?!

last year when i went to distribute memorial invitation, i had a bad time talking to a house-holder who happened to be an ex-nun.
she said: you are wasting your time.
jesus had no idea that his death would have a sin-atoning value (which is of course a later invention by later theologians.

i was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.
of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.
i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

is it just me or does anyone else see more newbies joining this site this past year and especially in the last few months .. we would love to welcome you with genuine friendship ,support ,encouragement ,a place to vent ,and not judge you.. you have the freedom to express whatever view you like and you won`t be kicked off the board.. and to learn more about the "truth" about the truth , you will not hear at a kingdom hall .. smiddy.
I have seen more leaving than coming in. Young ones are exiting at alarming rates. TTATT is out and everywhere, so resistance is futile.

I am pleasantly surprised at how in the Spanish congs here in the USA the JWs are sending/encouraging their kids to further their education. At least in my cong, this 'no higher education' propaganda I'd falling on deaf ears.
Probably because we immigrants risked all to come here and provide a better future for our children.
Easy for them, living large and most comfortably, to spew nonsense about obtaining a worthy education.

are they stricter or laxer?
i've read comments on this board that the spanish speaking congregations are stricter.
somehow i imagine pacific islander congregations are laxer because they aren't as at odds with the culture.
The Spanish speaking congs are definitely nosier, more in people's private lives; it is a cultural aspect for the average Hispanic to be a busy body.

i'm in contact with service and writing and brochure first step there bleeding publishers they can't take it anymore publishers are depressed because they feel they must shun others and they know it's unloving.
Even before knowing TTATT I refused to participate in the shunning activities. I have been counseled on it in the past and I have simply said is not loving or polite to ignore people in general. Nevertheless, it is true, shunning is a JW trademark of sorts.

back in the early 70's, the wt stated that all persons who had lived and died would be resurrected after armageddon.
only non believers would be killed at armageddon, never to return.
in short, if you died before the big a, you were guaranteed to return.. this gave rise amongst several ex's to concerns that their well-meaning jw parents might just consider the possibilty of having their offspring "lovingly" bumped off so as to ensure their resurrection!.
Shunning sure kills a person's spirit. That is often referred to as a test of loyalty to God and the Org. Not good.

Indoctrination truly runs deep. As much as I feel liberated by knowing TTATT, still I would absolutely not give nor take anyone's blood, nor would I participate in military or patriotic actions. Those two aspects are the constant remnants of having been a JW all my life.
Yes, JWs are pretty radicals in their beliefs.
